Deboleena Roy is Vice Dean of Faculty for Emory College of Arts and Sciences. Over the past decade she has taken on an increasing number of academic leadership roles and is dedicated to developing equity, trust, and transparency in higher education. She oversees the ECAS Office of Faculty which is committed to creating communities of belonging and implementing inclusive practices in faculty hiring, reappointment, tenure and promotion, and faculty development activities.

Ed Lee III
Senior Director, Inclusivity
Ed Lee III, EdD is the Senior Director of Inclusivity for Emory College of Arts and Sciences. With an emphasis on organizational communication, culture formation, and enhanced collaboration, Ed works directly with academic unit chairs to develop and facilitate department/program level programming and discussion on DEI-related issues across the College of Arts & Sciences.

Laura Papotto
Senior Director, Human Resources & Faculty Operations
Laura Papotto is Senior Director of Human Resources and Faculty Operations for Emory College of Arts and Sciences. She is a great believer in the importance of clear process and consistency in making equitable decisions and building trust. Her focus is on institutionalizing programming and learning opportunities - particularly for staff and faculty - that provide the foundation for an inclusive community.

Working Group on Antiracism
The College Faculty Senate established a Working Group on Antiracism in 2020-2021, which worked that year to develop recommendations to be shared with the full faculty in Fall 2021. Having voted to formalize this group as a Standing Committee of the Emory College Senate, these faculty leaders, representing all disciplines, are central to the advancement of DEI efforts College-wide.
Affirmative Action Committee
The Emory College Affirmative Action Committee, made up of faculty leaders from each division within the College, vets and approves all search plans and works closely with the Dean's office and search committee chairs to ensure diverse representation on committees, outreach to diverse candidate pools, and successful recruitment.
